Metal Packaging & CannedWater4Kids

Did you know that more than a billion people on our planet do not have access to clean water? CannedWater4Kids is a program designed to address this issue by generating awareness and funding projects to purify water for children in developing nations. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a child dies every eight seconds from drinking unsafe water.

After the devastating earthquake earlier this year, the CannedWater4Kids program supplied 6,930 cases of canned water to Haiti. This generous donation was critical for surviving citizens, as major infrastructures and water supplies were heavily damaged. In addition to donation efforts such as the one in Haiti, CannedWater4Kids also funds projects such as drilling wells in developing nations and providing packets that help purify water. It also financially supports a number of globally recognized clean water causes like UNICEF, World Vision, and Engineers Without Borders.

According to the program’s website, the aluminum can was selected for supplying the clean water because it is safe, readily available, sustainable (recyclable), and economical.
